Everything HAIR!

Everything HAIR!

Many believe that hair is your best accessory, it frames your face, shows off your best features, and can make you stand out! Healthy hair can make any outfit, even a t-shirt and jeans, look like a million bucks.
The question arises, what can you do to get healthy, shiny, and voluminous hair? Here are the basics of haircare that are super easy to follow and will leave you with your dream hair!

Establish the right hair care routine for you
Make sure your shampoo and conditioner are formulated specifically for your hair type. Concentrate shampoo on the scalp whereas conditioner on the tips for clean, smooth and silky hair.
Know thy hair!
There are conflicting opinions about how often to shampoo your hair. It all comes down to personal preference and individual needs, which depend on:

  • your hair type and texture
  • how often you use hair products
  • your activity level

For example, people with oily hair may need to shampoo every day, while people with dry hair may need to shampoo less frequently.

Pump up the PROTEIN and ZINC
Hair is primarily made up of protein, so be sure to eat at least 45 grams of protein daily.
Zinc deficiency can cause hair to shed. Incorporate nuts like Brazil nuts, walnuts, pecans, cashews, and almonds into your diet to combat shedding.
Good sources include:

  • lean meat
  • fish
  • beans
  • low-fat dairy products
  • Eggs
  • fruits
  • leafy green salads
  • plenty of clean, filtered water

Throw it out
Harsh shampoo, hair treatments, styling products, and excessive brushing contribute the most to poor hair health.

Get ready for the gym!
Working out can cause hair breakage if the hair is tied up too tightly. It is essential to take extra care of your hair while working out to avoid hair fall and maintain hair health.

Avoid excessive heat styling
Exposure to high heat changes the shape of your hair's keratin strands. Temperatures over 300°F convert the ⍺-keratin to β-keratin, which eventually leads to weaker hair that falls out. Fortunately, hair fall due to heat is not permanent and can be reversed by avoiding overuse.
